History:
Born in Deerfield, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Kitty grew up a normal, if not charmed life. Her parents deeply cared about her and when at an early age, testing indicated that she was gifted and destined for great things, her parents nurtured these gifts, driving her to succeed in everything that she could.
Otherwise, Kitty grew up relatively normal in most every respect... or at least to the age of 13. When she was 13, she started getting unexplained headaches and dizzy spells. More to the point, these headaches would cause her to pass out on occasion, usually ending with Kitty waking up somewhere other than where she remembered passing out and in the case of one of the spells, she woke up with half of her body in the floor. It didn't take long before she realized what was happening and while she may have been suprised to say the least, finding no other explanation for what she did, Kitty accepted it for what it was. Just something different about her.
It wasn't long before Kitty started experimenting with her new found abilities, to find out what exactly she could do. She kept this power secret for fear of what would happen if other people (including her parents) found out about it and on her own figured out all the little points to her power, some by accident (disruption of electronics) and some through testing (walking on air).
She went on with her life like this for years, the only noticable change in her life was that she started spending more time away from the world, between studying and experiments, to the point where the only time which she would ever spend around people socializing was dance class and school. While she was home for these extended periods of time though, she noticed an increase in her parents arguing and it hit her hard.
Kitty's mental state and social skills steadily deteriorated over the next few years from all of the arguing, Kitty blaming the problems at home on herself. Her grades went up, but emotionally she was a wreck, trying to bring her parents back together before they could come apart completely.
That was up until 12 months ago when she disappeared, seemingly from the face of the earth, for 7 months. Theses months are a jumble to Kitty. Mixtures of nightmares and confused flashes of memories. Noone else seems to know what happened, but somthing has been different about her since she's come back.
Since coming back, Kitty found that her parents were divoreced in her absence, and as a way to deal with this new revelation, she went to college... away from both in New York City, where she is now. Recently, the memories have started to return, though very slowly and she's beginning to regret getting the memories back.
