History:
Piotr Rasputin was born on the Soviet collective farm
called the Ust-Ordynski Collective near Lake Baikal in
Siberia. His superhuman powers emerged in adolescence.
At first, very sparingly Piotr was content simply to use
these powers to aid the Collective. Then one fateful
day he first began to truly realize the potential that
his "gift" had. A runaway tractor was bearing down on
his young sister Illyana. He jumped into the way,
changing into his steel-form, and destroyed the tractor.
It was not too long after this that his sister ended up
disappearing mysteriously. He never truly recovered from
that, having felt that it was his fault that his sister
was gone. If he would have been more careful, and
watched out for her better she would still be with them
today. As everyone knows, that when it rains it pours.
It seemed the entire continent was in turmoil. The
ethnic cleansing in the Bosnia/Serb conflict. The
constant warring of the factions in power. Even those
who were considered friends had to resort to violence in
order to survive. Piotr lost his mother, father, and
brother on a cold winter's day.
His brother was a cosmonaut, his ship had been heading
to the Mir space station. All that was said is that some
time before they docked the ship had been lost in space.
His mother could not take the loss of her daughter, and
her oldest son dying of a broken heart shortly before
the Collective was taken, and killed his father in the
process. It was then that Piotr decided it was time to
leave this place of decay, and to try to find a life
elsewhere.
He traveled far, and wide in this time. Spending the
first few years in the Eastern countries. Then he moved
westward, into the European countries, and even over to
the British Isles. It was finally at this time, six
years after his sisters disappearance, seemingly a
lifetime after he had left his broken home in Siberia,
that Piotr Rasputin stepped on American soil. With
little more then the shirt on his back, and close to
eight sketch books that contained his many travels, not
including the paintings he ended up trading to get off
the boat, that he went in search of his destiny.
A story of something-dreadful happening at the Symposium
had cut it short. Now he was in a truly foreign place
with little money, and no place to stay. It was the
other side of his luck, or so it seemed again, that had
saved him. He has found a good job unloading shipments
at a meat factory not far from the University, though
the only place he could find to stay with his amount of
money is in Hell's Kitchen. Perhaps some day, if they
have another one of these Symposiums, he may have the
chance to talk to one of these people.
